Karnot exclusively uses natural refrigerants — R290 (propane, GWP 3) for heat pumps and CO₂ (R744, GWP 1) for refrigeration. These have no PFAS pathway, are not subject to EU F-gas phase-down or REACH restriction, and routinely deliver COP 4.0–5.0 in Philippine tropical conditions. Conventional HFC equipment (R32, R410A, R454B) is being progressively restricted by European regulators because of its PFAS degradation products.
