Mapandan is approximately 230 km north of Manila, accessible via the TPLEX expressway. Karnot serves commercial clients across the Philippines, United Kingdom, USA, and Canada — and any in-country staffing for those markets is recruited locally.
What is a natural refrigerant?
Natural refrigerants are substances that occur naturally and have minimal environmental impact. R290 (propane) has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 3 — compared to R410A at 2,088 and R22 at 1,810. CO₂ (R744) has a GWP of 1, the lowest possible. Karnot exclusively designs systems around natural refrigerants — R290 for heat pumps and R744 for commercial refrigeration. This is technically more demanding than conventional refrigerants but delivers far superior environmental outcomes.
Does Karnot hire fresh graduates?
For most roles, Karnot requires experienced professionals — the work is technically demanding and commercially high-stakes. The two roles most accessible to newer graduates are Operations Centre Analyst (technical diploma + relevant fundamentals) and Design Mechanical Engineer (BS ME + 2 years CAD experience). Karnot plans an apprenticeship programme from FY28 for fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds in ME, EE, and Refrigeration Technology.
What is TESDA NC III, and how is it different from NC II?
TESDA NC III (National Certificate Level III) in PACU/CRE (Plant Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration / Commercial Refrigeration Equipment) is the highest vocational qualification for refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians in the Philippines. NC III qualifies a technician for independent installation, commissioning, and fault diagnosis of commercial refrigeration systems. NC II covers maintenance and servicing of domestic and light commercial systems. Karnot requires NC III for field roles because commercial R290 and CO₂ systems require NC III competency level. Certificates are verifiable at tesda.gov.ph.
