Install, commission and service Karnot R290 heat pumps and CO₂ refrigeration systems across Luzon and Visayas. Brazing, vacuum, pressure-testing, refrigerant charging, fault diagnosis. Hands-on, field-based work.
R290 (propane) and CO₂ are natural refrigerants with Global Warming Potentials of 3 and 1 respectively — the best available refrigerants for the climate. Working with them requires specific training because natural refrigerant systems use a different engineering approach to legacy HFCs. Karnot invests in that training for every technician: UN-accredited hydrocarbon refrigerant training (EN 378 / IEC 60335-2-40 aligned) is fully funded and provided as part of onboarding. You will leave Karnot with qualifications most refrigeration technicians in the Philippines do not have.
Salary ranges from ₱28,000 to ₱35,000 depending on experience, with per-diem paid for every site travel day. The role involves approximately 70% field work across project sites.
Yes, it is a hard requirement. Karnot verifies all TESDA certificates directly on the TESDA Registry of Certified Workers at tesda.gov.ph before any offer is made. NC II will not be accepted for this role — the commercial refrigeration and heat pump work Karnot does requires NC III competency level. If you are an NC II technician with strong experience, consider applying to the Operations Centre Analyst role instead while working towards NC III.
R290 (propane) is the natural refrigerant of choice for modern heat pumps worldwide. The UN-accredited hydrocarbon refrigerant training Karnot funds (EN 378 / IEC 60335-2-40 aligned) covers: refrigerant properties, storage and handling procedures, leak detection and emergency response, brazing and pressure-testing procedures specific to hydrocarbon systems, and personal protective equipment. Training is typically 3–5 days and results in a recognised certification. You keep that certification regardless of how long you stay at Karnot.
Approximately 70% of working time is on-site. Projects are primarily across Luzon — Pangasinan, NCR, CALABARZON, Pampanga, Ilocos. As the project pipeline grows, Visayas sites (Cebu, Iloilo) will be added. Away-from-home nights are covered by per-diem. Karnot provides transport for all site travel — technicians are not expected to use personal vehicles for work.
Different engineering, not more difficult. CO₂ (R744) is non-flammable and non-toxic. Transcritical CO₂ systems use a different operating envelope to legacy HFC equipment, and the components are engineered for it. Karnot provides CO₂ system-specific design and operation training as a separate module from R290 training. Both refrigerants are well-established with international design standards, and the training is exactly what gives technicians the confidence to work with them productively.
