The Role
You draw the machines we build. Every heat pump plant room, skid and enclosure Karnot installs starts as your drawing, goes to the workshop, and comes back as steel.
This is a CAD role first and foremost. Three years of daily AutoCAD and working Autodesk Inventor are the hard requirements. Heat pump experience is not — we will teach you the technology, because we cannot teach ten years of drawing in ten weeks.
You work alongside our PME and our senior electrical engineer on every project, turning site survey data and equipment selection into drawings a fabricator can build from without ringing you up.
Key Responsibilities
- 2D in AutoCAD — plant room layouts, pipework routing, equipment arrangement, P&IDs, and electrical single-line coordination with our electrical engineer
- 3D in Autodesk Inventor — heat pump skids, stainless steel enclosures, pipework assemblies and sheet metal parts. Parts, assemblies and drawings, not just viewing models someone else made
- Fabrication drawings a workshop can build from: dimensions, tolerances, weld callouts, sheet metal flat patterns and bills of material
- Equipment selection and sizing calculations — heat load, flow rate, pipe sizing, pump head, buffer and storage volumes
- Site survey drawings: measure an existing plant room, draw what is there, then draw what we are putting in
- As-built drawings after commissioning, and keeping the drawing register in order so the current revision is obvious
Required Qualifications
- AutoCAD daily for at least three years — as your main tool, not occasionally and not only at university
- Autodesk Inventor to a working standard — parts, assemblies, drawing views and sheet metal. If you have used SolidWorks or Creo instead, say so: we will consider you, but you must be willing to move to Inventor
- A portfolio of drawings you produced yourself. Bring them to the interview — we will go through them and ask why you made the choices you made
- BS Mechanical Engineering, or a Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma with the right experience
- Willing to be based in Mapandan, Pangasinan, and to travel to site across Luzon
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC, refrigeration, process piping or plant room experience
- Stainless fabrication or sheet metal experience
- PRC RME or PME registration — and if you want to sit the PME, we will support you through it
- Revit or Navisworks
- Any exposure to natural refrigerants — R290 propane or CO₂

About This Role — Common Questions
How will you interview me?
Two stages, and the second is practical. First a conversation about your background and your portfolio. Then a drawing exercise at our office: we give you a real Karnot layout problem and a workstation, and you work through it with our engineers. We are not trying to catch you out — we want to see how you set a drawing up, how you think, and how you handle being asked to change something halfway through. Allow half a day for stage two.
I have no heat pump experience. Should I still apply?
Yes, if your drawing skill is genuinely strong. We will teach you the technology. The CAD requirement is the strict one precisely because it is the part we cannot teach quickly.
Is this a remote or hybrid role?
No. This is an on-site role at the Mapandan HQ. Drawing production needs the shared design server, the physical equipment for measurement verification, and daily contact with the engineering team. You must live within commuting distance of Mapandan, Pangasinan, or be willing to relocate.
What will I be drawing?
iHEAT R290 heat pumps (9.5–100 kW), iCOOL CO₂ refrigeration, iSPA pool heat pumps, iZONE hydronic fan coils and AquaHERO water heaters — plus the skids, stainless enclosures and plant rooms they sit in.
