The people behind cleaner energy
We're engineers, installers, and problem-solvers building natural refrigerant technology that cuts energy costs and protects the planet.
Our Mission
Replace the era of combustion and synthetic chemicals with natural refrigerant systems that deliver 75% energy savings — just as global regulations make our technology essential.
Stuart Cox
Stuart brings 30 years of hands-on experience designing and delivering natural refrigerant systems for the world's most demanding industries. His thermal fluid temperature control systems have become industry standards.
He previously founded Likido Ltd in Edinburgh, grew it to technical maturity, and successfully exited via acquisition to Dalrada Corporation (OTCQB: DFCO) in 2020. His systems were selected for technology assessment by the U.S. GSA and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
In 2023, Stuart moved to Pangasinan, Philippines, to build Karnot — bringing world-class heat pump technology to Southeast Asia's fastest-growing thermal energy market.
Not just another heat pump
Most of the heat pumps sold in the Philippines are consumer or pool-grade boxes. A Karnot system is built for industrial duty — and the difference shows up on your bill.
Natural refrigerants, built for the next 20 years
Every Karnot system runs on natural refrigerants — R290 (propane) and CO₂. They have almost no global-warming impact, and unlike the synthetic gases in most air-conditioning and heat pumps, they aren't being phased out under tightening EU and international rules. A system you buy today won't be stranded when its refrigerant supply runs short.
Real industrial heat, not a pool heater
Our iHEAT range delivers hot water up to about 85°C, continuously. That's hot enough for pasteurising, bottle and crate washing, clean-in-place, hotel hot water, and to replace many diesel and LPG boilers outright — work that consumer-grade heat pumps simply cannot do.
Engineered, not just plugged in
A heat pump is a box. The savings come from the system around it — flow rates, temperatures, tank sizing, controls, and the safe handling of natural refrigerants. Every Karnot installation is sized and commissioned by our own engineers to EN 378 safety standards. It's the step most disappointing installations skip.
Savings you can measure
Within their design range, our systems return four to five units of heat for every unit of electricity — savings of up to 75% against diesel, LPG, or electric heating. Our iSAVE platform meters the result in real time, so the saving on your bill is proven, not promised.
Karnot vs a typical market unit
A plain side-by-side — against the consumer or pool-grade equipment now common in the market, not any one competitor.
| What to compare | Karnot — industrial, natural-refrigerant | Typical market unit — consumer / pool-grade |
|---|---|---|
| Refrigerant | Natural — R290 or CO₂. Almost zero warming impact, and not being phased out. | Synthetic — R32, R410A, R134a. Being phased down under EU rules. |
| Heat output | Continuous hot water to about 85°C — true industrial process heat. | Pool and domestic temperatures, usually below 55°C. |
| Installation | Sized, commissioned, and safety-engineered by our own team. | Plug-and-play, sized to the box, no application engineering. |
| Proof of saving | iSAVE meters real performance, energy, and savings. | Generally none — performance is claimed, not measured. |
| Long-term | Refrigerant supply position is improving, not shrinking. | Exposed to the synthetic phase-down over the unit's life. |
| Service | Manufacturer warranty, Karnot-serviced across the Philippines. | Often importer-only, with no engineered service path. |
